Edward A. Cole, DVM 
Dr. Edward Cole has lived in Florida for 30 years. He was raised in Lakeland, Florida where he started working at a veterinary hospital when he was 9 years old. He graduated from Lakeland Senior High School with high honors and headed to the University of Florida where he became the youngest person accepted into the veterinary school. There he met Jeanette (The other Dr. Cole) in the same class and their fondness of animals drew them together; they have been together ever since. His special veterinary interests include cardiology, surgery, dermatology, and ultrasounds.
Jeanette Cole, DVM
Dr. Jeanette Cole was born and raised on Long Island, New York. As the sixth child in a family of seven
, she found that her niche was caretaker of the family pets. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture at the University of Florida in 1990 and was accepted into Veterinary School the following fall. She graduated from the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in the spring of 1994. Her special interests include animal behavior, dermatology, and ophthalmology.
The Drs. Cole
After they graduated, they moved to Boston. Edward interned at the prestigious Angell Memorial Animal Hospital (Massachusetts Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and Jeanette interned at a large specialty practice on the south shore-South Shore Veterinary Associates. After several years in private practice in the Boston area they moved back to Lakeland, Florida and practiced together in the veterinary hospital where Edward worked when he was in high school. After 3 years they moved to Sarasota to start a new era in their lives serving the pets of Sarasota. They are the proud parents of 2 cats- "Orange Boy" and "Spotty Doty". Their previous family have included an energetic Boxer, Marley, a snake with scoliosis, Scoli, and a blind rescued quaker parrot, Scooter. They are the proud parents of Faith, born in 2004 and Daniel born in 2006.
Kate Cole, DVM
Joining our practice as of August 2007 is Dr. Kate Cole. Yes, she is related! The new Dr. Cole is Dr. Edward Cole's sister. After graduating from University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992, she went to Los Angeles for her internship. She worked as an emergency vet for another year and then bought her own practice in Hollywood in 1994, where she was vet to the stars until recently. Family ties drew her back to Florida, after selling her practice in Los Angeles. She has 2 beautiful girls, Elizabeth, 6 and Isabel, 4 who love living in Sarasota with their cousins. Dr Cole has a strong interest and experience in Dermatology, but loves all aspects of veterinary medicine- anything that has anything to do with dogs and cats! Please make her feel welcome, and be sure that you can put your trust in her; she treats all pets as if they were her own.
